Children of Blessing Trust/Thrive Malawi

Children of Blessing Trust provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services to children with disabilities. In partnership with ERDO we offer these children access to specialized equipment such as chairs, walking frames to help them learn new skills. It is always so thrilling to see a child sit on their own for the first time or take steps for the first time without anyone helping them. So many children are now able to walk on their own without any equipment at all. Our Preschool and Special Education Departments work hard to prepare our children with disabilities for school. This past September, 11 of these children were able to start school at the government Primary School closest to our Centre.

One of the highlights of the week for our school-going children who live close to our Centre is the Wednesday afternoon Kids Club. Here they get together with other kids with disabilities just like them and learn scripture, play games, and fellowship together. The group is so big now and our space limited that we had to break the kids into 2 groups. Watching them sit in small groups and read their Chichewa Graphic Bible together is special.

Why do we partner with these Global Workers?

Simply because they know the needs on the ground.
They have been well trained, and as they work, the Holy Spirit is opening their eyes to the needs of the people there.

Our Global workers, who are our friends, give the people they meet and work with, just what they need - in many cases, even providing basic human needs.

We trust them as experts in their field and have seen their effectiveness.
They have been commissioned and sent out from our church family.
They have been entrusted and empowered to “Go”, and we desire to see the Lord work in mighty ways in and through them as they do His Kingdom Work!

Funded a refugee cooking business

Outreach/Spiritual needs

Helped fund a church plant
Provided Bibles
Assisted UCM with evangelism and outreach endeavours
Funded overseas pastoral training and mentoring programs

Why do we do this?

Because we believe that every person was created to experience and express the purest love imaginable.
Our outreach strategy includes meeting the needs of our world in very practical ways. Through our Global Outreach Fund, we mobilize our “why" by partnering with indigenous initiatives and university ministries in our province. Internationally, we help build schools, drill freshwater wells, and respond to humanitarian disasters. We also support the personal budgets of people who feel called across the globe to serve in their country of burden. We train and send teams to go out on short-term trips to serve and give back to communities that need ministry teams. All of this is done so that those in our world can experience the purest love imaginable.

Broadway Church reaches outside its walls to positively impact lives both locally and globally. Globally, we support many Global Workers who are the hands and feet of Jesus around the world. Each year we also send out multiple local and international short-term missions teams who serve first-hand in an outreach context.
