ALLY Global Foundation works to prevent exploitation, with programs like Makwa Dodem that equip Indigenous communities through culturally safe approaches.
In a world where millions of people are bought and sold for profit, we’re committed to preventing exploitation and providing care for those affected.
Did you know that though they make up just 4% of the Canadian female population, Indigenous females make up 50% of reported cases of trafficking? Indigenous individuals are disproportionately affected.
When it comes to the prevention of trafficking and exploitation, there is a lack of resources available that are grounded in Indigenous culture and community. Ally launched Makwa Dodem in 2023 to fill this gap.
Makwa Dodem is an Indigenous-led program working to equip and empower Indigenous communities to prevent sexual exploitation. This is done through culturally safe, trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
Broadway Church reaches outside its walls to positively impact lives both locally and globally. Globally, we support many Global Workers who are the hands and feet of Jesus around the world. Each year we also send out multiple local and international short-term missions teams who serve first-hand in an outreach context.
