Songs of Advent: A Four-Week Bible Study

Before Christmas carols and modern worship songs, the first Advent was marked by four profound songs of worship and prophecy. Join us this season as we explore the biblical songs that announced Jesus's arrival and shaped our understanding of who He came to be.

Each 45-minute session will include teaching and small group discussion as we dive into:

  • November 9: Mary's Song (The Magnificat) - A young girl's revolutionary vision of God's upside-down kingdom
  • November 16: Zechariah's Song (The Benedictus) - A father's prophetic declaration after 400 years of silence
  • November 23: The Angels' Song (Gloria in Excelsis) - Heaven's announcement of peace on earth
  • December 7: Simeon's Song (Nunc Dimittis) - An old man's satisfied farewell after seeing the Messiah

These ancient songs still echo through church liturgy today and offer us a richer, deeper way to prepare our hearts for Christmas. Whether you're new to faith or have heard these stories a hundred times, come discover what Mary, Zechariah, the angels, and Simeon understood about the baby who would change everything.

All are welcome - no registration required. Bring your Bible and an open heart.
