Specific Needs

Autism

The Pacific Autism Family Network (PAFN) is a network of support for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families across BC. They bring resources for research, information, learning, assessment, treatment and support, and building capacity to address the lifespan needs of individuals with ASD and related disorders.

The Canucks Autism Network (CAN) provides year-round sports and recreation programs for individuals and families living with autism while increasing awareness and providing training in communities across BC.

Autism Community Training (ACT) provides excellent information and training by international best practices. Their goal is to enable parents and professionals to support children and adults with autism spectrum disorder to live productive, satisfying lives within their families and communities.

Friend 2 Friend Social Learning Society creates and delivers evidence-based programs and services focused on addressing the social inclusion, peer play and friendship needs of neurodivergent children and their peers.

ADHD

ADHD Information, tips and tricks is an informative website and reference for a better understanding of this disorder and additional help for health professionals.

The Centre for ADHD/ ADD Awareness, Canada (CADDAC) is a Canadian national charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of those with ADHD through ADHD awareness, education and advocacy.

CADDRA is a Canadian, independent, non-profit association, resource organization for medical, healthcare and research professionals with an interest in the field of ADHD. It is an association that supports health professionals in the assessment and treatment of individuals with ADHD through education, guidelines, advocacy and research.

Down Sydrome

The Down Syndrome Resource Foundation offers a wide variety of educational and health opportunities to children and young adults with Down Syndrome, including groundbreaking one-to-one reading and math instruction, speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, and a variety of adult education programs that prepare students to live full and fulfilling lives in the community and workplace.

The Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS) is a non-profit organization focused on human rights, health, social participation, inclusive education, and employment for those with Down Syndrome.

The Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network supports new and expectant parents with a Down Syndrome diagnosis. They connect, support, and provide accurate information to parents and medical professionals from the time of diagnosis through age 3. Their vision is that every Down Syndrome diagnosis will be delivered in an unbiased, factual, and supportive way.

Down Syndrome Education International is a charity that supports scientific research and delivers evidence-based advice and information to improve outcomes for children with Down Syndrome worldwide.
