SIMON GAU

COMMUNITY PASTOR/CITYREACH EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

simong@broadwaychurch.com

I get to oversee community outreach at Broadway. One of the ways I do this is by providing leadership and vision to the CityReach Care Society. I work alongside the amazing CityReach program directors and help put on big outreach initiatives and events for our community. I also serve on our preaching and teaching team and get to proclaim the good news of Jesus week after week.

KIDS AND COMMUNITY ASSISTANT

I love getting to be a part of both the Broadway Kids and CityReach teams, to be able to work to make our services, events and community projects the best they can be. I get to work both behind the scenes and up front with incredible teams of staff and volunteers, to see our mission to reach children and families come to life! I also lead GIRL365, a web-based ministry that reaches out to teen girls across Canada and beyond. I’m so thankful to serve here and look forward to an exciting year ahead.

Hello!  It is my pleasure to coordinate our outreach programs in the Tri-Cities (Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam, Port Moody).  These include Food for Families mobile food bank and Club Freedom’s free community meals in Port Coquitlam.  I also work with an amazing and dedicated team of volunteers to put on the Community Closet clothing sale in Vancouver and in Port Coquitlam.  My passion is for every person in the Tri-Cities to experience and express the purest love imaginable.

CITYREACH - FOOD FOR FAMILIES DIRECTOR

Hey! I manage and operate the Food for Families food bank at our Warehouse campus. The focus of our program is to provide a safe environment for low income families in our community where they can feel welcomed and accepted, as well as provide them with access to healthy, nutritious food. We have several AMAZING volunteers who are involved with our program and come to serve every week, and really are such a blessing to our families and program as a whole.  It would not be possible to operate without them. It’s great to be able to work together in order to provide this need to those who struggle financially, and encourage each person with God being our foundation and motivation to help others.

JEMAL DAMTAWE

CITYREACH - CLUB FREEDOM DIRECTOR

jemald@cityreach.org

Hi! I am blessed to be able to reach out to the people in our community who are struggling with homelessness, addictions or mental illness.  I work alongside an incredible team of workers and volunteers who have a heart like me for this sometimes forgotten group of people.

We feed the body as well as the soul.  Each Sunday we have a Christ-centered worship service followed by a hot meal that is prepared on site with love. We provide meals for approximately 150 guests each week.  Also, I provide guests with a listening ear and Christ-centered advice during the week.
