Discipleship is a lifelong adventure of following Christ. Wherever you are on the spiritual journey, we want to provide ‘next step’ opportunities for you to grow in faith. At Broadway, we encourage people in discipleship in three ways:
Exploring Christ on Wednesday Nights
If you are seeking for answers, new in faith and wanting to grow in Christ, are followers of Christ seeking to get better grounded in the basics of Christian faith and lifestyle, our Wednesday Night Discipleship courses is the place to be! These courses cover a range of subjects and emphasize discipleship in the context of community. The courses are 10 weeks long and are can be followed in sequence. Wednesday nights begins with dinner at 6 pm and move onto instruction and table discussion at 7 pm.
Each Wednesday we offer some or all of these core courses:
The Alpha Course: An introduction to Christian faith for those with questions.
Life Worth Living: An introduction to the Christian lifestyle based on the Paul’s letter to the Philippians.
Living Free: An exploration of finding freedom from the things that hold us back in living the abundant life Jesus Christ promised to his followers.
Challenging Lifestyle:This is a guide to developing Christian character and the spiritual habits that lead to growth based on Jesus’ teaching in his Sermon on the Mount.
These core courses are offered 3 semesters a year (Fall, Winter, & Spring). Each semester is approximately 10 weeks in length and concludes with a Celebration Night where all groups join together.
Exploring Christ on Wednesday Nights begins January 13, 2010.
Life Groups during the Week
There is no place like a small group for people to find what they need to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ. Life Groups provide a venue to BELONG to a group and build relationships, BECOME more like Jesus, and BLESS others both within and beyond the group. Life Groups meet on various nights throughout the week in homes (or other venues) throughout the GVA and lower mainland. One of the purposes of these small groups is to help people who want to grow in Christ. Life Groups are gatherings of Christ followers who meet to explore and encourage one another in living the Christian life together.
Life Groups begin this fall in late September, early October.
The Sunday Equipping Hour
Every Sunday morning at 10 am, we provide three kinds of classes aimed to helping you grow in Christian faith. There is the Bible Class that takes its participants chapter by chapter through the Scriptures to discover and practice what it teaches. The Spiritual Formation Class centers on the teaching and spiritual practices needed to become a mature follower of Christ. The Christian Ministry Class will address topics important to helping people discover their calling and gifting for ministry and provide skill training for people seeking to be active in ministry.
The Sunday Equipping Hour begins September 19th, 2010.
